Sophie Adler
Pilates Instructor: Reformer | Equipment | Mat
With a rich background in dance, Sophie began her movement journey at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds, where she graduated with a BA in Dance Performance. She has over 25 years of experience performing and teaching in professional, community, and educational settings, working with people of all ages, from under 5s to older adults, and has specialised throughout her career in inclusive practice.
She holds an MSc in Dance Science and Education from the University of Edinburgh and is a certified Skinner Releasing Technique teacher.
Her Pilates training was completed with Polestar, covering both mat and studio equipment (including the Reformer and Trapeze Table) & qualifying as a comprehensive Pilates Instructor.
Across all her teaching, Sophie brings a keen eye for movement and a highly individualised approach. Years of experience have refined her ability to offer cues and guidance tailored to the unique way each person moves and learns. She believes that effective teaching means meeting clients where they are, not just physically, but emotionally and in terms of their confidence and beliefs.
Sophie especially enjoys working with clients who are open to exploring their movement and engaging with the Pilates process over time. What motivates her most is seeing change, whether it's the immediate shift in someone’s posture or mood after a session, or the long-term progress that comes from consistent practice. From subtle improvements to major breakthroughs, she finds deep reward in helping clients discover greater ease, confidence, and capability in their bodies.
